Ajman Tourism Awarded Rising Star Destination at the GCC Food and Travel Awards

A delegation of Ajman’s leading hotels participated in the gala dinner attended by dignitaries and tourism professionals

Ajman Tourism was awarded with the prestigious GCC Food and Travel Award for Rising Star Destination at a gala dinner hosted by Food and Travel magazine at Palazzo Versace Hotel in Dubai, in the presence of a group of dignitaries and senior officials from the tourism and hospitality sector in the UAE, on Monday the 27th of March.

 

The Ajman Tourism and Development Department (ATDD) led a delegation of Ajman’s top hotels to attend the GCC Food and Travel awards. The delegation, which was led by Yamina Aoucher, Director of the Tourism Development and Marketing Department, included representatives from some of Ajman’s leading hotels including the Ajman Palace Hotel, which was announced as the winner for Best Ramadan destination in GCC.

 

A large number of four and five star hotels and resorts from Ajman and the other Emirates competed for the awards and all applications were assessed against strict selection criteria. A delegation from the judging panel also visited the qualified hotels to ensure they meet the award criteria.

 

Speaking on the occasion, His Excellency Faisal Al Nuaimi, General Manager of the Ajman Tourism Development Department, said: “Receiving the award for Rising Star Destination acknowledges the progress we have made and is testament to our status as an Emirate with a thriving tourism sector in the UAE. Ajman Tourism’s win of the prestigious award not only reflects the level

 

of growth achieved in Ajman to date, but also recognises the Emirate’s strategic plan for continued development and expansion within this sector. The Emirate of Ajman has become a destination for a large number of tourists from both inside the UAE and abroad. Such awards will certainly stimulate the tourism sector and inspire other tourist facilities in the Emirate to achieve excellence and success at the regional and international levels”.

 

He added: “As part of its strategy, the ATDD is striving to attract more potential tourists and encourage more visitors to come to the Emirate where they will receive excellent tourist services; there is something available for everyone and families from all social classes. The department, in collaboration with its partners, is providing high quality tourist attractions and luxurious accommodations for all tourists”.

 

Nine Ajman hotels were nominated in total; Ajman Saray, Fairmont Ajman, Kempinski Hotel Ajman and Ajman Palace Hotel were nominated in the Best Five Star Hotel category, Ramada Hotel and Suites Ajman was nominated in the Best Four Star Hotel category, Kempinski Hotel and Ajman Palace Hotel were nominated in the Best Resort Hotel category and Kempinski The Spa Ajman and GOCO Spa Ajman Saray were nominated for the Best Spa.
