The Ajman Tourism Development Department (ATDD) Holds Fruitful Meetings with Russian Firms in Moscow

Tourist groups look forward to benefitting from the 30-day entry visas offered to Russian citizens

As part of its efforts to strengthen bilateral relations with key international tourism agencies, the Ajman Tourism Development Department (ATDD) organised a visit to Moscow, during which the department held a series of meetings with key tour operators and a group of foreign investors and businessmen. The purpose of the visit was to promote the Emirate of Ajman as a unique tourism and investment destination locally, regionally and internationally, thus serving the department’s future objectives and strategies.

During the visit the delegation, chaired by His Excellency Faisal Al Nuaimi, General Manager of the Ajman Tourism Development Department, managed to build strategic relations with major companies operating in the fields of tourism and travel, and engage closely with industry leaders in Russia, promoting the quality touristic and investment elements available in Ajman. In addition, the delegation promoted facilities offered to investors to launch their touristic projects in the Emirate and the streamlined procedures offered to them by the Government of Ajman to implement their investments.

Faisal Al Nuaimi, General Manager of the Ajman Tourism Development Department, said: “Through the meetings we held on the sidelines of our visit to Moscow, we aim to achieve our objectives and strategy for 2021, which fits well with the Ajman Vision of making the Emirate one of the most important tourism destinations in the world. This goal can be achieved by strengthening relations and building partnerships with leading and major tour operators. These efforts will help increase the attractiveness of the Emirate of Ajman and promote it as a unique tourism destination”.

He added: “The figures of Russian tourist arrivals to Ajman last year have encouraged us to hold these meetings. The number of Russian tourists increased to 34,654 visitors in 2016 with Russian tourists booking 89,183 room nights and spending 170,844 guest nights in Ajman hotels throughout the year. These figures show the value of tourism destinations in the Emirate, which meet the needs of Russian and foreign tourists alike

HE Faisal Al Nuaimi clarified: “Russia is one of the world’s largest sources of outbound tourism. The visit allowed us to present our tourism and investment projects to key investors and to hold a series of fruitful meetings. We achieved positive results in terms of promoting Ajman tourism, and this will help increase tourist traffic in the coming period”.

The meetings held with major companies and investors in Moscow come within the series of meetings held by the Ajman Tourism Development Department to shed light on the Emirate’s touristic components as well as the major tourism and investment projects that it implements to attract the greatest number of foreign, particularly Russian, tourists over the upcoming period, specifically that Russian nationals offered 30-day entry visas to the United Arab Emirates. Furthermore, these meetings aim to reveal the latest developments relating to the investment work currently being implemented and supervised by the Department in terms of hosting facilities and other luxurious hotels to be inaugurated in the future.
