Ajman Modern School embraces change to ensure a smooth transition from traditional to distance learning for all students.

March 25, 2020: With the recent directive to begin distance learning, Ajman Modern School has understandably had to make some changes in their approach to ensure all students continue to receive the same level of education at home, as they would within the school campus.

Over the last 18 months, the school has continued to increase both productivity and academic achievement for all students. This has been achieved through an overhaul in every area of the school; from the teaching team, right through to the campus renovations. But what happens when you remove all students and teachers from the campus and into an online environment?

With a new Senior Leadership Team in place, support from the school owners and a clear strategy for improvement, the foundations were already set for distance learning long before the need was apparent. 

Principal, Mr Will McGuire is very happy so far with the transition between in-class and distance learning.

“Teachers and students alike are excited about the challenge of using Google Classroom for distance learning. In the past some classes, especially in KG, have used 21st Century tools such as ClassDojo to facilitate engagement with students at home. The idea that the whole school is embracing distance learning is truly exciting.”

“I understand there will, and have been, bumps in the road but together with patience and caring for each other, we will all make our AMS family proud.”

With student engagement and productivity continuing to be high, praise certainly needs to be given to the students for adapting to their new learning environments seamlessly. 

As with any period of change, there is initially an expected uncertainty for parents, and sometimes things may not go as planned, but Ajman Modern School are doing extremely well at being agile.

Having the agility to create processes for students at such short notice and implement them with relative ease is what will provide parents with reassurance that Ajman Modern School is the best place for their children to continue their educational journey. No matter how long distance learning continues for, the structure is in place for students to excel within the classroom or whilst they are working from home.
