The relaxation will commence from December 2 and last for one month

All traffic fines in Ajman will be reduced by 50 per cent, while the seizure of vehicles and issuance of traffic points will be discontinued, Ajman Police has confirmed.

The relaxation, on account of the UAE’s 49th National Day, will commence from December 2, and last for one month.

The resolution was issued by Major General Sheikh Sultan bin Abdullah Al Nuaimi, commander-in-chief of the Ajman Police, on the directives of Sheikh Ammar bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Crown Prince of Ajman and chairman of the Ajman Executive Council.

Major General Al Nuaimi explained that the resolution applies to all traffic violations committed in the Ajman emirate before November 23, except transgressions related to driving vehicles in ways that endanger the lives of others, changing a vehicle’s engine or chassis without a licence, and violating the precautionary measures enacted to control the spread of the Covid-19 virus.

The injunction intends to alleviate the burden of motorists especially during constraining times in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic.

He urged vehicle owners to pay their fines and benefit from the discount, avoid committing further violations and causing accidents, and adhere to traffic regulations.

The UAE has announced a three-day holiday for the public and private sector on account of the country’s 49th National Day.
