Ajman Tourism Development Department Celebrates the International Day of Happiness with an Array of Positive Activities and Initiatives

The celebration is aimed at promoting positivity and the values of giving in the community. It is also in line with the UAE Government’s mission to create conditions conducive for happiness across all sections of the community, including the employees and clients of Government departments.

Organised by the ATDD, the celebration included a range of positive activities and initiatives, as part of the department’s efforts to introduce sustainable happiness as a lifestyle in the workplace.

Commenting on the occasion, His Excellency Faisal Al Nuaimi, General Manager of the Ajman Tourism Development Department, said: “Celebrating the International Day of Happiness is part of a series of annual community initiatives organised by the ATDD. It is in line with the directives of the UAE’s prudent leadership to bring happiness and welfare to employees and all members of the community, as part of a broader National Happiness and Positivity Programme which aims to make the UAE a role model for the region and the world in turning happiness and positivity into a lifestyle”.

He added: “Today we launched the Employee Happiness Charter, which is aimed at improving workplace communication, instilling positive values and encouraging an optimistic attitude. We are committed to promoting sustainable happiness throughout the year as a daily practice and lifestyle for employees in order to be able to perform their tasks properly”.

In line with both International Happiness Day and the Year of Giving 2017, the ATDD launched the White Inspection Initiative, which aims to educate hotels and tourism operators on how to improve and upgrade their services to avoid negative comments and fines. The initiative will be quarterly, in line with the vision of the wise leadership to achieve the desired goals of the Year of Giving. In addition, some of Ajman’s tourism destinations and hotels offered discounted rates and promotions. These included: Fairmont Ajman, Kempinski Hotel Ajman, Ajman Saray, The Ajman Palace Hotel, Ramada Hotel and Suites Ajman, Ramada Beach Hotel and Ewan Hospitality Group.
